now the time has come to announce our 2009 EME DXpedition.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>From Sunday, 24<SUP>th</SUP> of May to Thursday 11<SUP>th</SUP> of June we will be radio-active under MI/DL1YMK from </SPAN><SPAN lang=EN-GB style="FONT-FAMILY: Arial; mso-ansi-language: EN-GB">Northern Ireland</SPAN><SPAN lang=EN-GB style="FONT-FAMILY: Arial; mso-ansi-language: EN-GB">.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>It will hopefully be our first 4-band EME DXpedition, as we plan to activate 70, 23, 13 cm and for the first time 9 cm. The 23 cm DUBUS Contest is covered by this period (30<SUP>th</SUP>/31<SUP>st</SUP> May).<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> <br>

</SPAN>It is quite a difficult period of time moon-wise, because we have only the second half of the declination period. That is the reason for presenting a timetable with all 4 bands in the first week (with somewhat higher declination), despite the fact that it will be normal working days for many hams. Anyhow, we have planned a second day on all bands around weekends, despite the fact that the declination already is very low then (especially 5<SUP>th</SUP>/6<SUP>th</SUP> of June). <br>

Because of the immense transportation costs for the equipment to Uruguay last year, we th
is year will perform a kind of “low budget” DXpedition by car (saving money for another ‘DX’ -DXpedition 2010, hi ;-), stuffing all rig in Monika´s SUV (hopefully it fits!) and set out by car (including 2 ferries…) to Maggee Island (IO74du), where we booked a nice holiday home. Weather permitting (it is AGAIN a very windy location - we love to take the risk, it seems…), we will able to bring </SPAN><SPAN lang=EN-GB style="FONT-FAMILY: Arial; mso-ansi-language: EN-GB">Northern Ireland</SPAN><SPAN lang=EN-GB style="FONT-FAMILY: Arial; mso-ansi-language: EN-GB"> on the moon for the first time on 23, 13 and 9cm.<br>

In short our operating plan is as follows: 24.05.- 23cm, 25.05.-23cm, 26.05.-13cm, 27.05. - 9cm, 28.05.- 23 cm, 29.05.- 70 cm, 30./31.05. - 23 cm (DUBUS), 01.06. - 13cm, 02.06. 23 cm (JT), 05.06. - 23cm, 06.06. - 70cm, the rest of the days is sparetime - just in case..<br>
