It is really sad to hear of the death of SM7BAE, his voice was so familiar to us in the UK in the early 60s whenever the tropo opened up accross the North sea.  I recall very vividly him playing to me, on 2m or 70cm, recordings of his 2m echoes, seriously loud!!, when we were struggling with very tiny signals in the early days of 1296MHz. I did work him when I got on 2m eme for a while in 1986, he was QSO #5.
One of the greats, RIP Kjell.
