Hello all.
Contest weekend is over, thanks fer the contacts during the weekend.
It was fun as usual, but this weekend I had lot of difficults, to get the
station running, hi.
Missed the first hours in moonrise Saturday, as I had fault in the high
voltage power supply.
Found the fault and was ready after repair at 1500UTC. Very good activity
and conditions seemed also at average on Saturday. During the night I
notiched in some directions, the background noise increased, but I didn't
use time to locate the problem, because I was busy on the band.
Sunday conditions was worse and the noise problem degraded RX here. After
some pointing around I located the source to be a UHF TV transmitter located
25km west direction. I need to find some way to add a filter in the LNA. In
moment I have a broad ATF54143 with a very narrow and deep filter behind,
but may need to try out a cavity input design again.
Contest score was 47 stations, with one new initial: 9H1TX who is doing
very well.
I worked only 2 stations from Japan and Doug from Austrialia, so activity
seems down in east. From NA more stations was on as in the past, but still
few active. During the last ATP weekends on 70CM, activity has increased,
so I had hoped for more contest activity. Anyway, maybe its influence of bad
weather or aurora around.
I am avaible for skeds this week on 432 and 1296 if any interest?
Stig, OZ4MM
