hi Ross

if you have access to hydraulics, hydraulic motors offer slow motion, no shift or back-lash, high momentum and power and are easy to install and operate. Almost no maintenance is required for our applications. They hold winds and dont swing forth and back.

pls refer to this: http://www.hb9bbd.ch/article.php3?key=3

I can operate my 10m dish at up to winds of 80km/hr.

Now I am gradually starting to get things organised, I would apprciate some help on the azimuth motor for a 4.5m dish.
(Elevation I will use a linear actuator.)

For the azimuth drive a prop pitch motor would probably be ideal, but good ones are probably like hen's teeth.
So advice as to what I should do, what size of motor do I need should it be DC or AC, gear box does it need zero back lash etc.
Final drive from the motor to the dish drive shaft etc.

All info very gratefully accepted

Thanks
Ross
