My call sign is VE1KG/W4 until May 15th. I have not been active for a few
years for various reasons.When i go back to Canada i will try to be active
again.I have monitored the debate for the last few years.I am on WJST once a
year during the EME fall contest to give my good friend Gary KB8RQ  VE1 .To
do that i go on 144.127 & wait my turn until Gary hears me sometimes it
takes hours.We do it RANDOM & i am running very low power right now.Most of
the time i hear Gary on the radio before i see him on the screen, lack of
experience i guess with JT65.Once the contact is made i close JT down for
the year.From time to time i simply monitor JT & listen to the traffic as
well as monitor the reflector where QSOs are often pre arranged & questions
are ask like did you get my R<RRRR? ect..Also often i see my call appearing
on the screen called by someone eventhough i am not even transmitting or
calling anyone! Why is that??
I am not passing judgement on JT or the use of it.Mainly because i do not
know enough about it. I favour CW because it is HARD.I would like very much
to get my DXCC on CW. I am 40 countries short hi!  & because of it i would
like to see DXCC awards for CW only & digital only.The idea is to have fun,
do whatever turns you on. Once i have worked 100 countries on CW i will try
to do the same on JT but will not mix both.On my way home i am picking up a
linear should be active soon.Two things i need to do is fix my elevation &
change a few things around & also get my interface working I have a
rigexpert interface if anyone knows anything about it i would appreciate
your help.In the meantime enjoy whatever your are doing it's suppose to be a
hobby not A CRUSADE.
