Hello All,
Still have the 13 cM feed installed in dish and decided to try to give a
listen
to KAGUYA , Japans orbiting lunar orbiter found on 2263.603 MHz +/- 22
KHz doppler.
W5LUA wrote a article on receiving it on his end using a SDR-1000
receiver. The article
is found here >>>
http://www.ntms.org/files/Japanese_Lunar_prospector_revB_Dec2007NTMS.pdf
.
The signal is simply a CW carrier with lots of doppler with subcarriers
at +/ 16 kHz.
I am guessing it is some form of MSFK modulation and/or telemetry.
The period of silence will occur when it disappears behind the moon but
will reacquire
after about 20 - 30 minutes( if I remember last night ). I understand
the period of
its orbit around the moon is about 90 minutes.

I copied it well above S9 using a DEM 2304-144 transverter,
A R7100 receiver at a IF frequency of 103.603 MHz USB,
a 3 meter dish and preamp mounted at feed.

Many hams are able to receive it on simple, few Turn Helix antenna. One
HAM
claims to copy it on a paper clip antenna (
http://www.kolumbus.fi/michael.fletcher/kaguya.htm ).

Thought some of you who have 13 cm capabilities might be interested. I
have been thinking about
using it as a moon tracking beacon when I cannot see the moon ( at least
for 13 cm ).
