Hello,
a pleasure for me to announce that just some minutes ago G3LTF and myself completed my first 3.4GHz QSO at all, over the moon, exchanging 539/539 on both sides. No doubt, it was CW and not digital.
On my side it is a G8ACE oven, G4DDK multiplier to 3.256GHz, DB6NT ver 1 transverter, Toshiba amp delivering 55W, all mounted straight at the feed.
Preamp is a DJ9BV 2stage preamp with FHX35 in the front end.
Feed is a 66mm dia alu tube, septum polarizer, with a chapperal ring that was taken from a C-Band LNB.
Dish is 4.5m f/D=0.32
I am really happy now, after much struggling for this band, because I do not have direct capability to measure there. Just last weekend I was close to give up until I found that the major problem was just matching between the oven and the multiplier. My best thanks to Peter, G3LTF, Sam, G4DDK and Luis, CT1DMK, for their worthful help.
My 9cm system is not waterproof, so in case of dry weather I will be on 3.4GHz this weekend.
On 13cm I will be on TX/RX 2320 (and listening on 2304, 2424 and 2301.950)
How do we handle it with 9cm? I would prefer sunday for 9cm, because on Saturday I am little bit puzzeled due to babysitting...
73, Günter, DL4MEA
