Hello,
After a night time boat trip and a short sleep I will be back on 13cm until my moonset at around 09:15UTC. I decided to do mostly calling, since my signal seems to be quite reasonable on the moon.
In order to ease crossband, I of course check 2304 in parallel for a free frequency
For your 2304MHz frequency, do as if you would hear me there, means include your doppler shift into the frequency calculations. N.A. stations will have a positive doppler shift now, so just use that and put it so that for example
if you hear me on 2320.104
set your echo to 2304.104 or
if your doppler shift is +3kHz set your transmitter to 2304.107MHz
Checking 2304 is easy, I have 12kHz wide waterfall and 2304 on the RCL/STO button of the FT847, so I can really quickly see if someone is calling on each band. And it is my experience that I can identify signals there perfectly which I am not able to read...
73, Günter (dl4mea)
