discussion goes on and on and leads to nothing else then a dry CW band.
I am blessed with a positive view at the world and that positive view can
also admit that CW EME is not as it was before. But 2007 is also not the
same as a century ago ! Things simply change in life.
I remember the days when I had no TX ability, but received SM5FRH
with a single 7 ele up to 30 degrees or that he worked during NAC contest
many many stations via EME, or I called IK3MAC with 25W and a single
12 ele at my moonrise and got P ..--.. !!, but these days are gone and
were a
motor for my persistance to do EME one day.
One can accept or one can fight against time and end up in a frustrated
person. Even that is a choice I can respect.
But for myself choosing between positve and negative persons is very simple
I'd like to encourage new stations and if they stay active in JT65 or on
loggers
and DXC it is their choice. 1st doing JT65 seems vy reasonable and logic
to me.
And freedom of choice is in my opinion the most valueable we posses.
But if the atmosphere of the CW lovers stays this way it will only push
the aspirant CW eme'rs away, because I doubt I am the only person who
likes to have fun in this magnificent hobby !, and just like Joop his
statement:
FUN is the most important!! Ones starts to think about it twice to take a
step
into the world of CW with it's negative atmosphere !!!!!!!!!
And THIS way it is no invitation to newcombers to try CW !
MY invitation is to look at a broader perspective and not only react from
your own dissapointment that times of HUGE cw activity are gone
It is just as Jodie Foster said in the movie 'Contact' to have a vision,
when the reaction was negative when she collected money for their
SETI project at the office from Mr. Hadden.
Your reality is determined on your own view of the world.
If you focus on the losses and get depressed that cw activity isn't
that anymore as it was before, than that will be your reality !!!!!
But.... I don't want to be a FOM (Frustrated Old Man)
