Gentlemen
The following updates my be down loaded from either
http://www.ve1alq.com/downloads/software/vk3um.htm ....
http://sm2cew.com/ ....(soon) .. http://www.vk3bez.org/ (there may
well be some delay at this site)

VK3UM EME Calculator .. EMECalc-Ver4.00 Install.exe
The latest update of the calculator has the following notable
refinements and additions.
- Aperture Correction Factor for both Sun and Moon is now fully implemented.
- Additional frequencies added for the full coverage of the 2.3GHz
band as well as Radio Astronomy and Deep Space allocations.
- revamp of the Y Factor Calculations. Given the data available,
Aperture Source calculations are only valid for 144 and 432 MHz and
are now only
provided for those bands. Point Source calculations continue to
be provided, now with an indication as to validity of data source.
(verified or an extrapolated value.)
- updated Help file.

Due to an over sight, the Aperture Correction Factor for the Sun
calculations was previously never implemented. The Moon calculation
also did not cover
all aperture sizes. The factor correction value is now displayed both
as a decimal value and as the dB reduction applicable. For those
using frequencies
above 23cm this correction factor becomes most apparent and the
calculator will now provide a most accurate value of expected Sun
and Moon Noise
commensurate with your system. Try reverse engineering to find a
problem area and improve your system if necessary.

I would be most interested in hearing (directly) from those using the
higher frequencies, as to the correlation of calculated values with
their own systems.

I would also be interested to hear from any one that has definitive
Noise Flux values for the Noises Sources I use in the program
relating to frequencies greater
than 10GHz as well as for 70 and 50MHz. Some sources between 3Ghz
and above also are missing definitive values.
(The extrapolated values are shown in red in the program or the
calculation boxes are left blank).

Many thanks to Peter G3LTF for his help and advice in confirming the
figures on his 3456 MHz system. (spot on! .. but you would expect
that from Peter!)

VK3UM EME Planner .. EME2007_1October07 Install.exe
- Changes to this update are the inclusion of all 2.3GHz ranges plus
more precise frequency definitions for 10,24,47 GHz which
will be reflected in the Doppler calculations.
- minor changes to the VK5DJ interface.
- Sun noise and eclipse correction implemented. .. no Help file ..still!!

I have had one report that the Planner may not run on Vista. (like so
many other programs!!). Does any one have any further info on that
aspect, please?

As always, your comments and suggestions are always welcome.
