[Moon] TS850S ALC problem?

Hello fellow EMEers.... I wonder if anyone can help me with this problem. I tried to join the Kenwood reflector to ask the following question but apparently you cant join with a UK IP address.... it says..."Your IP is in uk, rejected based on geographical location". ( Picky!)
Maybe someone here knows the answer or perhaps someone who is a Kenwood list member could post it for me and send me the reply.
I have a TS850S which I use at low power to drive my transverters via an attenuator so the power control is at minimum and I set the CW level by the carrier control. This has worked FB for about 4 years but today ( in the EME contest of course!) I find that the carrier dips slightly ~1dB every second or so. I did a search on " TS850S alc problem" and found several people had had trouble with the alc DC/DC converter with a fluctuating - 6.1v output. The TK5EP site http://tk5ep.free.fr/tech/ts850/alc/en/alc_g.php has detail on how to check and fix it. However I cannot seem to locate this board in my model. The RF board X44-3120-00 A/4 ( with the xtal filters on) has just one vertical sub-board, under the shiny metal cover, labelled 3900-00 but this bears no resemblance to the board described on the TK5EP site and doesn't have 6.1V on any of the pins.
Q1 Am I looking at the right board? If not where can I find it?
Q2 If I am looking at the right board where can I find the circuit to troubleshoot it , or maybe replace it with a modern dc/dc ic?
Q2 Is the problem I describe caused by this same alc voltage fault or should I be looking elsewhere?
I hope Im not offending anyone with posting this Q here but I know there are a few TS850S users on eme. Thanks and 73, Peter G3LTF
