Hello All CW lovers,
Since the 1st part of ARRL, in which I already could add some new
initials, I kept on going and worked 6 new ones and my standings
are now 55 CW eme initials worked, so not bad at all since I became
active in CW 1.5 years ago :-))
I the week after the contest I completed with Vlad UA9SL and
Brad WQ5S, both stations I meet regularly on JT65b and having
good signals. I had tried with Brad before, but then I had only qrpp
power, but now we finally made it.
The week when moon was low, I was not qrv at all, but this week
started again and last weekend I saw in the CW logger at N0UK that
Christian F0CXO was calling CQ. Christian is quite often in this logger
announcing his CQ and I find this perfectly because this way there
is still CW outsides the contests. Also Petr OK1KKD and Jean F1FLA
are in here and give CQ every now and then !!!!
Unfortunately at the time Christian had my callsign after many qrz's
Farady passed by and the xyl was calling me for dinner.
Monday evening became surprisingly.
I met Stefan SM2A (SM2ILF) in jt65b with loud signals and asked
using tje JT65b text message to try CW . We switched to CW
and I started calling... A big signal returned and I copied LA8YB.
But this signal was soo strong, it could not be eme I thought .
Besides that, I knew no one from LA active on 2m EME so started
calling Stefan again. Again LA8 returned, copied him as LA8YB
and I sended several times EME EME, to make him clear that
I was pointing at the moon. By that time I had not heard Stefan
yet, but again LA8YB returned with both calls and started with
OOO OOO. Then I awoke and adrenaline raised because this
meant : LA8YB " IS WORKING VIA THE MOON !!!! " WOW
The qso was completed soon and I quickly entered the CALL
LA8YB in Google and what I saw was amazing. A nice picture
of Finn in front of a very large array 32 x 17 ele and that made
all clear :-))) It seems that Graziano has now an extra opponent ;-)
I switched to the logger again as I was calmed down a bit and no
wonder I did not hear Stefan, because He also heard the huge signal
from Finn. Now Stefan and I could start and our qso was quickly made !
Thanks to Stefan for his patience that I could work 2 stations then !
I hope that Finn becomes active on a regular base and sent him an email,
but do not know if the adress is valid. (the mail is not bounced back so ?? )
Yesterday evening condx were really in good shape and I could work
with Tadas LY2BAW rather easily although some deep qsb was on
his strong signal and after our qs I heard Tadas working Jean
F5JNX who also made the qso rather quickly and I asked Jean to
try. It was not easy because Jean was pretty close near a birdie, but
signals were quite strong so after some extra time also F5JNX is
in the log as initial number 55.
It is very nice to see that there are again new CW inits left for me
and I must say that the GS35b is helping a lot since I got a FB
MRF247 driver from David G4DHF, to have a stable output :-)))
I have had my warming up so let the contest start !!
To all GL in the contest CW and/or JT65 and hope to meet you !!
