Hi Leif et al,

In all of my weak signal work since 1951, I have never used
the receiver AGC.

My procedure, which has worked on all of the older radios,
was to first turn the RF gain all of the way "down". Then turn
the audio gain all of the way "up". Then use the RF gain control
as the volume control.

In all of my experience, using the above receiving method, I
am sure that there was little or no AGC action occurring.
