(8N1EME)
Japanese EME community is very pleased with, and really proud of our big
success in the Project BIG-DISH. The 8N1EME QSLs have been designed by the
Project members, and will soon be printed, and issued from the QSL mgr
Seiji, JH6RTO/1. Seiji kindly asks you to send him a return envelope of a
little larger size for JA standard QSL card.
8N1EME QSLs for EME contacts will be sent only direct, because the card is
a two-fold type, which would not be handled by JARL QSL bureau. (I wonder
how many EMEers would like to receive QSLs via the bureau. If requested by
many, Seiji needs help by someone who can send 8N1EME QSLs of two-fold type
through his QSL bureau. )

In every monthly issue of Japanese CQ Ham Radio magazine deals with the
Project BIG-DISH activities,
including whole stories for the 8N1EME's success, the EME contacts made with
small antennas, the small-dish receiving project done by many of microwave
enthusiasts on 5G, and the cooperative job by the local ham club members who
opereated 8N1EME, worked 10k-QSOs on HF bands.
These articles spread much of the live informations of our EME activities
to other JA amateurs.

To celebrate our good relationship and big success with KDDI and JARL, we
had a "Kampai" dinner meeting in Akihabara, June 22. It was interesting to
listen to the deatailed stories for the key to success, told by the KDDI
staffs. How and to whom the Project's request was carried on among the key
persons of KDDI Corporation, seems to be the most important, one secretary
of the president office reveals. But we think, our choice to whom this item
to be submitted was really a correct choice, first of all. We were lucky
that our item was smoothly handled by the KDDI key persons. Many thanks!!

(Jamesburg, Lovell, and another 18-m dish)
We would like to congrtatulate the great progress in the reconstruction of
the Jamesburg earth station, which once was the most important counterpart
of the KDDI space communications, using that 32-m IBA-4 dish for INTELSATs,
in '80-90s. Also we are very pleased to know the great success by Ian,
G0DMU and Dave, G4RGK, in the GB50EMJ activities from Lovell telescope at
Jodrell Bank, to celebrate it's 50th anniversary.
Both are featured in my EME column in the next issue of CQ Ham Radio, of
course.

Some of the BIG-DISH members are now planning the next dish project in a
certain place in JA. Not a few large dishes are out of service in Japan
now, and we have found an 18-m Gregorian dish which may well have a chance
to re-use for EME activities some day in the near future. More info will
follow in progress.

(Ham Fair in Tokyo)
Ham Fair 2007 will be held in Tokyo, August 18-19, this year. Aug. 18,
Japanese EME group will present the one-hour lecture on the EME
communications and the story of the Project BIG-DISH.
Also we are lucky to have two booth sections, for EME and 8N1EME
acitivities exclusively, for full two days. Some printed matters on our
activities will be distributed to the visitors.
Dinner meeting is planned after the festival closes at 5 p.m., August 18
(Sat.). If someone has a plan to go to Japan about this time, please don't
miss the chance to meet us.
