Hello Hakan,
For sure CW is an age-old mode, although I would not
really characterize it as old style because CW is a
POWERFUL TOOL for optimizing an EME station
irrespective of what mode the station mostly uses for
EME communication.
As we all know, especially since the EME station
starts detecting its own ECHOES, short CW word tests
can provide valuable reference for improving the
entire EME setup all the way from the stations
antenna down to the audio stage.
Even when in the future our signals to the moon switch
to full digital transmissions (QPSK noise or others)
the CW tool will be there maintaining its values to be
used for EME QSOs or EME system optimization.
