This is mostly a listening report. I was QRV for the 2nd Period and found conditions to be excellent with a great deal of activity. I've made some recording of the signals, which sounded like the CW QRP end of 20M. In the week before this event I rebuilt x4 of the dipoles and re-aligned all x8 antennas, resulting in a much-improved return loss. I spent nearly 3 hours listening and calling PJ4EME, who concentrated much of the activity. I heard nothing from them in the 1st hour but was receiving wonderful signals from EU. IK2DDR was 539, RA6DA 539, SV1BTR 549, SP7DCS 539, LZ2US 549 to name but a few. I lost count of the number of stations I heard calling. They became readable with me at around 0800z and peaked 429. When I did tune away from 144062 there was still a great deal of activity with some huge signals. I only wish that PJ4EME could have been active for longer, but can imagine the CW "mush" they were receiving from their side and also their need to fulfil other obligations.

I finally started tuning the band with only about 1 hour left and worked, OK1MS, SP7DCS, SV1BTR, OH6CH and SM2CEW. After the event I worked F3VS, exchanging 549/539 reports. I'm sorry not to have been active for longer as I missed so many stations in this event, particularly several from NA.

On a positive note, I'm well underway with building my new x8 H/B antennas, which are 3WL long. I've cut and mounted all the elements and will align the system in the coming weeks. They will be a direct replacement for my existing 2.2WL designs and provide an additional 1.5dB of additional gain. Here's hoping.
