Hi Conrad,

I think these are similar, if not identical, to the Narda SEM163 series? Do a Google for "narda switches" and see what it throws up.

>From the part number:

062 = SP6T

B12347Y = Latching, 50 Ohm terminations, Indicators, Suppression diodes, TTL logic high drive, Self de-energising circuitry, BCD TTL decoder.

A2C = SMA, Standard MIL power connector, 24V

5C2 = unknown frequency (probably DC - 22GHz-ish), polarity not applicable, "range" mounting.

I don't know the implications of all that (e.g. BCD TTL decoder?), but the info might give you a few leads. We may have a datasheet at work, I'll let you know if I find one.

One good thing - I believe having the self de-energising circuitry fitted makes control a bit easier (without it the latching pulses have to be well-formed).

a +ve and -ve supply connection indicated by a Red and a black wire of
greater diameter than the rest of the wires. Next there are 6 brown thinner
wires which I assume select each position - perhaps with a pulse? There are
4 other wires which I believe are indicator wires but I'll worry about them
later. Can anyone suggest how to test these switches for functionality
assuming that they will be similar to others?

On the off chance that someone has a datasheet they are manufactured by
WAVECOM/LORAL and have the part number
062-B12347Y-A2C-5C2 and are 24V DC.
