 Hi,

I absolutely agree with Michal / SL2IQW.
However there is another concern, since many of us intends to use it not only for EME but tropo operation (i.e. ssb mode) as well: whether does it operate in AB class or not?

Hello,

I'm not RF designer but data sheet from Microsemi clearly state these
devices are "For L-Band Pulsed Radar Application"

800W is output power specified when running with 10% duty cycle and no
more than 300us pulse width. So don't expect to get average (CW) power?
higher than 80W only.?? Surely? there devices from other manufacturers
designed for (linear) CW operation with higher output on 23cm band.

Here is a follow up on the devices.
Demo units available.

contact psm at microsemi.com
see for more info, up to 800 watts out in a device on 1.3 GHz,
note these are shown to be radar units,
need to be looked at if usable for EME power amp.

may be of interest for 1296 amp.
