[Moon] Where is the Moon?

Hello!

A little strange question in this modern computertimes.   I wonder how you  OT did track the moon before computers?


The only way i could think of  is to follow the Nautical almanack where i can find Moonrise,Set,Decl and what time the moon is at its highest point.

I think from this values and a polarmount it should be ok but i think it was made another way.
