Kjell, and all --

There is no reason to be alarmed.

QSL cards with signal reports like "O", "RO", "OOO", or even
"-26 dB" are perfectly acceptable for DXCC. Likewise, the
mode can be listed as "JT65", "JT65B", "MFSK", and various
other possibilities. All of these (and indeed any of the
others we speak of as "digital modes") are treated as RTTY,
for DXCC award purposes.

See my inquiry to ARRL copies below, and the response from
Bill Moore, NC1L.

With best wishes,

Subject: Question concerning QSLs for DXCC credit

Dear HQ DXCC folks,

I have a simple question about QSL cards submitted for DXCC
credit.

Rule 4, "Confirmation data", posted on
http://www.arrl.org/awards/dxcc/rules.html, contains the
following text:

"4. Confirmation data for two-way communications must
include the call signs of both stations, the Entity name as
shown in the DXCC List, mode, and date, time and band."

My question is this: is there a restricted list of valid
"mode" designations? In particular, are cards confirming
contacts with digital modes such as PSK-31, MFSK16, JT65,
etc., accepted as valid? Similarly, is there a restricted
list of acceptable signal reports? For example, is there
any problem with QSLs that specify commonly used EME signal
reports and acknowledgments such as O, OOO, RO, etc.?

With best wishes,

Hi Joe:

There is no list like you ask. But, the modes you list come
under RTTY for DXCC purposes. Also, the same for signal
reports, there is no list.
