Hello Lunar Fans
what a great weekend!
Yesterday i heard my first 23cm echoes with the 3.6m dish and 50w at feed
and today, despite continuing DEM transverter problems on tx and rx, as well
as big voltage drop at preamp and tx/rx relay, i worked my first 23cm cw eme
QSO's!
My output from the transverter is changing 6-7db ! all over the weekend,
today it was even worse. RX gain down too, by more than 10db going up and
down, rx dissapearing often after every tx/rx changeover.
Nevertheless i aligned feed and choke with Sun noise this morning thinking
positive:-)
When done, i heard someone calling me. And then in 80 mins with a lot of
echo testing inbetween & problems throughout, worked:
JA4BLC 559/549 , DL4MEA 549/559, G4CCH 549/569, HB9BBD 589/579 (what a
signal Dominique!, sorry for no MIC at the time in the shack), G3LTF
559/569, LA9NEA 549/559, IW2FZR 429/519
Could not stay longer as my pwr had dropped so low that Bird was hardly
moving...
A big thank you to these fine operators who carried on with my signal as
there was no problem.
I was planning to be qrv on 23cm coming weekend outside DUBUS 2m & 70cm cw
eme activity events in which i will be active as usual. But the transverter
and other problems have to be restored first. If so, i will be on 23cm cw
also. If not, will be qrv on January 18/19 if not abroad with qrl.
Thanks to all, it has been really D-day for me with lot's of fun &
excitement on this super band with really fine cw eme dedicated ops as on
70cm!
