Hello to all;
<< Announcement on the Project BIG-DISH 2007 >>
KDDI, a Japanese Telecom company has formally assigned to make an experimental cooperation with some twenty JA EME amateurs and JARL using KDDI's 32-meter Cassegrain dish in QM06.
Their antenna IBA-4, meaning the 4th antenna of Ibaraki Satellite Communications Center, is fully rotable and elevated up to 90 degrees, for automatic moon tracking.
The most large problem we have is that we cannot remove the subreflector, 2.9-m in diameter, about 9 meters in front of the main reflector. Therefore we have to use this subreflector in some way for the EME operation.
The EME operation is planned on the usual EME frequencies, such as 144, 432, 1296 and 5760 MHz bands, in CW, SSB, and JT65 except on 5.7G.
The special EME license will be approved for this special occasion for full legal high output power. Some special callsign representing the EME activities will be issued for this event.
The operation will be planned during late Feb. to early March period in 2007, as we hope.
Further detail information will follow from time to time.
Thank you for your attention.
73es,
Mike Watanabe JH1KRC
