[Moon] Noise Measurements VK3UM

Measured here at 2315z 9th Dec 06
... 28'  Dish .. VK3UM dual feed (13dB edge taper 70cm and 15dB 23cm)

Sun 70 cm .. ~18.7dB   steady
Sun 23 cm .. ~20.4 dB  steady
23 cm   'C/S' -Term  ~6.5dB
23 Moon Noise ~0.7dB

Comments
    Some Libration evident 70cm.
    Fast QSB on 23cm .. no noticeable Libration
    Sun in Noisy part of sky .. added noise evident.
    Steady Sun noise (no bursts seen) over the 30 minute period monitored.
    Sporadic E up to 144MHz at time of measurement locally.
    sfu as calculated (my software) ~90.

Stations worked in hour prior to measurements
   70cm .. OL6OL 44n/55n, UA3PTW 56n/56n, DF2RU 
56n/57n .. another called but missed under Karl.
   23cm .. JA4BLC 55n/57n
Where were all the 23cm Eu Ops?  Storms or a good 
movie/sport on TV ? I called until 0.5° !
'Conditions' near perigee good. The moon was open but most shacks were shut!
No bagpipes heard.
