Hi Peter Michael Hakan and All

Peter Congrats on this link on your blog..
.
http://www.sm2cew.com/jt65emeA_061111_0804_gmt.htm

If this is the current state of making EME qso's then I think it is time to
move on

There is no way in this world I would ever be a Big , Medium even Small gun
in any way ... with a small back yard even 4 x 7 ele is a serious challenge

The digital / cw debate will roll on and on .. I guess what ever a guy wants
out of the hobby then as we say here " whatever flicks your switch"

After 30 + years of operating of serious 144 mhz operation there has always
been a challenge to get on the ultimate dx mode - EME but that challenge
has disappeared now - sit infront of pc and it all happens for you.

I guess SDR will soon be here big time and the conventional " rig " will be
replaced with a PC and some box attached to it and hey presto !!!!!

Why be in the shack at all !!! - work DXCC while you are at qrl !!!

Come home each night to check what "you" have worked - or better still "
log in from the office and see whats happening !!!

Send all the qsl's out by Eqsl , log all the qso's automatically with a
logging programme -

Leave the thing running 24/7 super !!!!!! As the moon comes up make those
qso's !!!!

Its not my kind of Ham radio I am afraid.

Hell I work on PC's all day don't really want it at night as well !!!

I made the decision to go single band , single antenna 50/70/144/432/1296
.and try and run a moderate bit of power on all these bands - so whats the
challenge ????? Well to keep all that lot running I guess :-)

Who knows I may be able to talk to somebody !!

73's to all

Richard
